New hand painted sign on a scrap piece of oak that I got at work -
’Forty Two,” 8.75 x 11 x 1”, acrylic paint on wood.
Not much to say about this one. After I painted the address on my friend’s garage, I wanted to use the same font (Ouija board) and paint the number 42. Painting 42 was something I wanted to do for awhile, but up until that point I wasn’t sure what font to use. So I had the material, I had some time between projects, and then the font became apparent to me; Boom - 42.
On the other hand… my fourteen-year-old dog passed away that week, so perhaps that is why the look is so spooky, maybe? Or… ghostly? I don’t know… or maybe it’s just a sign.
Of course, 42 being the famously calculated 'Answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything' via The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.
Detail of the side edge of the painting; stripes.
