I just finished some new OK signs on wood paneling (10x10” each, acrylic and latex paint). I decided to make these really quick between projects, just something fun to do. There is a photo stylist at my job that has a handbag that says ‘OK’ all over it. I really like it, but it got me thinking about how much I say the word ‘OK’ throughout my life.
How’s it going today Liam? OK
How was your weekend Liam? OK
How was the restaurant Liam? OK
How is work Liam? OK
If I get to heaven or hell someone will ask me, “How did it go Liam?” OK 😂🤣
When I thought about how to present this idea I decided to stack all these OK’s against a wall, kind of like dominoes, one after another. Each one painted (no printmaking!) as it’s not about efficiency. I’m a big believer in multiples and ideally I would make 100 or more of these, big ones too! But i only made three because I’ve got nowhere to put them, and to be honest, nobody is asking for them either. 😜 But regardless, it’s fun.
Side note - A happy accident occurred with the first sign when the Holbein paint reacted to the latex base and cracked… which, for this project, seems appropriate! 😂😂😳
So I decided to keep it. 👏🏼👏🏼🙌🏼 It reminds me of the typewriter scene in the film, The Shining.

Another ‘sketch’ of my idea using three painted panels.
