hardly any of them sold! Haha, oh well… ‘A’ for effort right?
I set out on a mission a few months ago to make 3x6” hand-painted signs for a consignment shop in my neighborhood. Each one has magnets on the back so that you can hang them on your refrigerator (if you want to).
If I remember correctly I painted fourteen of these holiday signs and got them all in to ilikeyou (Minneapolis) by December 12th, 2022. “I wonder if people will like them?” I thought.
Admittedly this is an experiment of sorts, I don’t know what kind of signs people are willing to buy in this state. Maybe these were too small, too cliche? Maybe the word itself isn’t working? When I talked to the owners of the store they said that swear words usually sell, but that won’t work for me, seems like a cheap stunt.
In any case, I need to sit down and think about what the next group of magnet signs will be. Maybe use words like ‘EAT’ or ‘COFFEE.’
