New sign painting up at Forgotten Star Brewery in Fridley, MN. - Sign writing on glass is always a tricky balancing act because your eyes flip between the stencil (located on the front side of the glass) and the surface you’re painting on (backside). This can cause your focus to go in and out as you paint. (sometimes I close one eye to help me to concentrate)
Since I have to paint the text backwards I find that it is best to just think of the letters as shapes. Then my focus will turn to line quality and spacing instead of words and meaning. Classic right/left brain scenario!
