Seamus Liam O’Brien spent the formative years of his life performing with his family on various circuses throughout the United States,
including the All Star Circus, T.N.T Circus, and the Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus. He would later go on to perform as a
costumed character at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom Resort in Orlando, Florida.
Mr. O'Brien has exhibited throughout the United States at venues including, the Kathryn Markel Gallery, NY; Atrium Gallery, NY; and the
Columbus Museum of Art, OH. In addition to exhibiting in galleries, Mr. O'Brien worked as a scenic artist and was involved in painting a
variety of set pieces and backdrops for amusement parks, retail stores, and stage shows. Selected projects include:
M&M Museum (Las Vegas, Nevada), Jurassic Park River Ride at Universal Studio's Islands of Adventure (Orlando, FL),
Houston Grand Opera's production of Salsipuedes (Houston, TX), and Bergdorf Goodman (New York, NY).
Born in Winter Park, Florida, Mr. O’Brien received his Bachelor of Fine Art degree in Drawing from The University of Florida, and
his Master of Fine Art degree in Printmaking from The Ohio State University. He has won numerous awards and grants, including the
Joan Mitchell Foundation Award, Illinois Arts Council Fellowship Award, and the Edith Fergus-Gilmore Memorial Grant.
Mr. O'Brien currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
